Dear Baby Bennett,
It's been a while sweet boy!  We're getting awfully close to seeing your cute little face!  What will it be like when they place you in my arms for the first time?  Mommy can hardly wait!  It's very hard to tell if you're going to come early or not.  If I had to guess, Mommy thinks you're awfully happy and comfortable in where you are!  My gut instinct tells me that you're going to come a few days early or just on time.  No late arrivals for you little cutie!  Doctors orders!  I know...you don't like them very much!

As the days grow closer to your arrival, daddy and I realize we've still got so much to do!  Tomorrow we will have your car seat put in my car!  I hope you like it because you'll be riding lots in it after the first few weeks!!!!  Your bedroom is ready!  I think you'll like it! :)

My heart wonders who will you look like?  Me or your daddy?!!!!  It'll be fun to see who you resemble most!  The most important part is that you know how much mommy and daddy love you!  Your daddy is like a kid in the candy store!  He lights up like a Christmas tree when we talk about you!  He's going to be an amazing daddy to you!  He's silly, lots of fun, and is very loveable!  You've got LOTS of clothes and toys!  It's like Christmas early around here! People can hardly wait to meet you!

Speaking of Christmas, Mommy needs to find you a Christmas outift.  I haven't found the perfect one yet.  Soon though!!!  Before Christmas is Thanksgiving.  It's going to be so wonderful having you with us at the Thanksgiving table!  Warning!  Your Grandparents, Great Grandparents, and Aunt Colleen (Daddy's sister)  are beyond excited about you!  I have a feeling that kisses and hugs will abound greatly upon you on that day!  Oh the joy that floods our souls!

Your Aunt Effie, (Mommy's sister) is also beyond excited to meet you.  Sometimes next year you'll get to meet her.  Warning:  She says she's going to spoil you rotten!!!!  Even before you're here, you are loved more than you know!  Mommy looks forward to the days ahead of introducing you to lots of people who have been anxiously awaiting your arrival!

Well sweet son, this is probably the last blog mommy will write before your arrival.  I love you with every fiber of my being and am SO THANKFUL to God for giving you to us!  Until I get to see your sweet face, hold you in my arms and welcome you into the world:  Just keep swimming, stay warm and safe and sleep for mommy!!!

106 Days Away!!!!!

Dear Baby Bennett:
Hey there mama's sweet bouncing baby boy!  We're six months along on this journey you and I!  We have approximately 106 days before we get to see your sweet face!  Mommy can hardly wait!  These days I feel your kicks like never before!  We'll need to work on your sleep patterns some so you can distinguish between day and night!!!!  Your favorite time to wake up and greet the day is 9 p.m.!  That's mommy's bed time or within an hour an a half later of that.  I know you'll change all of that, but I am excited!!!!

Your bedroom/nursery is practically done!  I hope you like it!  You and I will spend lots of time in there! We'll bond together!  We'll have midnight feedings, afternoon naps, diaper changes, and play time too!  Memories!  There'll be lots of those to make once you're here!  You're daddy is SO EXCITED!  He can hardly wait to see you either!  He's already making plans on teaching you the important things in life like fishing, golf, hunting, and all the manly things that you boys do!!!  Shhh!  Don't tell dad but I can hardly wait to see the expression on his face when he sees you for the first time!!!!!  We're getting closer and closer for sure!

The sonographer teased us again, that's the lady who kept trying to get you to move so she could take pictures of you in mommy's tummy.  I know you don't like her too much.  Don't worry son, they tell me you won't have to have your picture taken in mommy's tummy any more unless it's just necessary.  No more interrupting your nap time!!! :)  She asked us who has red hair in our family?  Now the mystery remains...will you have red hair?!!!!  Daddy has strawberry blonde hair.  We'll just have to wait and see!!!!!!

Oh mama's sweet boy, I'm so incredibly thankful to God that He's given you to us!  The anticipation is about to drive me nuts.  Waiting isn't one of mama's strong points, but the wait isn't much longer now!!!!  I will finally get to hold you in my arms, kiss your little cheeks and introduce you to many people who can't wait to meet you!!!

Until then, stay warm and safe, and just keep swimming!!!!!  106 days and counting!  Mommy loves you!

We're getting closer!

Dear Baby Bennett:
Hey sweet baby Boy!  It's week 22 and let me tell you I am starting to notice your movements even more.  Mommy and Daddy got to see you again on the big screen the other day!  Mommy was exhausted and wasn't feeling her best but seeing you definitely made me feel better!  Your daddy was smiling ear to ear!  He loves seeing his little boy!

There's one thing for sure, YOU ARE SOOOOOOO CUTE!  Of course, mommy and daddy aren't partial or anything!  The doctors say you have a small little head with long arms and legs.  Will you be tall?  Hopefully not too tall but a little height would be nice!!! :)

We're still working on your nursery.  Next weekend hopefully painting will start, and eventually it will look like a little baby boy's room!  Mommy can't wait to see the finished product with furniture and everything in it!  We want it to be just right for you!  We're definitely working hard on it!

Every day on the way to work Mommy prays and thanks God for you and asks Him to keep you safe until November!  I can hardly wait to hold you in my arms!  I'm sure a flood of emotions will rush through me like never before!  It'll be a day I will never forget!!!!!  Lots of people are so excited to meet you and see you!

The other day at the doctors we noticed one thing about you!  You LOVE your hands!  You keep your little fingers in your mouth.  That means mommy will have to keep your hands clean.  Maybe you'll suck your thumb?  Who knows, but one thing is for sure, I'll take you however you come fingers in your mouth and all!!!!  The sonographer (that's the lady who was taking your picture!) thinks you're going to have reddish, blonde hair.  They can't tell for sure but she says it's very likely.  Oh to have a cute little blonde or red headed baby boy around the house would be so cute!  It doesn't matter to me what color your hair is.  You're my sweet little boy and I love you just the way you are!!!!

Well my angel, mommy has to start getting ready for work.  I'm sorry for the rough night we had together last night.  Tonight will be better hopefully.  Stay warm and safe, and just keep swimming!  We have 126 days until we meet each other face to face!  I'm counting down the days!

We're halfway there!!!!!

Dear Baby Bennett:
Hey mommy's sweet bouncing baby boy!  These days you are making your presence known!  I can feel your little flutters!  It's so neat to be able to feel you at this point!!!!  Last night I declared you might be a football player when you gave me one good kick!!!  Now you're a little small to be trying out for the NFL but hey, practice never hurt anybody!!!!

These days mommy and daddy still wonder about what you'll look like!  We can hardly wait to see you and hold you for the first time!!!  It will be a joy like we've never known before and we wait with great anticipation for your arrival!!!!!  Mommy is currently looking for you the perfect going home outfit!  I haven't quite found it yet, but I will know it when I do!!!!

Your nursery is under way!  We've started prepping the walls and getting them ready for paint and a mural!  We think you'll like it.  It should be done by late September or the early part of October!!!! 

Mommy goes back to the Dr. next Thursday!  Mommy apologizes in advance to you sweet boy because they're going to have to disturb you again for our last ultrasound.  I know you don't like to be bothered by the doctors but they need to get one last good look at you!  They will tell mommy and daddy how big you are and how much they think you'll weigh at birth!!!!  So, for mommy will you cooperate one last time please?!!!!  Thanks mommy's sweet angel!!!!

I don't know about you but mommy is excited that we are at the half-way point in this pregnancy!  So, you get to live inside mommy and swim and kick some more for another 20 weeks!  It seems like a long time but it's really going fast!!!!!!! Every mommy is different, so I don't know if you'll come on time or early...but please don't come late!  Mommy is being funny!  I know God controls all of that and that you'll come when you're ready!!!  I'm just hoping it's more on the on-time side of things!  

Well my sweet boy, mommy needs to go fix breakfast and get the day started!  I love you so much!  My heart could explode with this kind of love I truly didn't know I had!

Dear Baby Bennett!!!!!!

Dear Baby Bennett:
Hey mommy's bouncing baby boy!!!!!!  We found out you're a little boy just over a week ago!  Oh the joy that flooded mommy's soul!  Yep, mommy cried!  The doctors say you're very healthy!  Yayyy!!  Mommy is overjoyed!!!!

The days, weeks, and months seem to be flying by.  I'm starting on your room this week!  It will be  lots of fun!  Guess what?!!! You've already got lots of gifts too!  Mommy likes them and I think you will too!!!  People are so anxious and excited to meet you!  Nobody is more anxious and excited than Mommy and Daddy!!!!  All in God's good time my sweet little boy!!!!

When you grow up and read this blog you will probably want to know how you got your name.  So, today mommy thought I'd tell you the story.  One day I was driving to work and praying about a name.  God told mommy to go look up the meaning of the name Bennett.  So I did.  It means Blessed!!!  Also, mommy has a sweet friend named Tammy Bennett who really loves Jesus with all of her heart!  Mommy's favorite thing about Tammy is that her witness for Jesus is so real.  She's also very sweet, kind, and loving and a great friend.  Now, mommy needs to warn you about Tammy.  She's pretty!!!!  Sorry little man, she's taken and has been for a bit!  You can still charm her with your smile, permission granted!!!

Mommy thinks she's felt you move a couple of times but isn't quite sure.  They say pretty soon it will be obvious!!!!!  I can't wait to be able to feel you for sure! To feel your first kicks!  I know they will get stronger over time but for now little flutters will work!!!!!

Well, my angel, mommy has some phone calls to return, and your room to get busy in all before going to work this afternoon!  Be sweet, stay safe and warm, and just keep swimming!  Sleep some for mommy!

3 Months along!

Dear Baby Roark:
Good Morning mommy's sweet angel!  FINALLY I got to see you!  Let me tell you, mommy couldn't stop the tears of joy from falling!!!!  You are one CUTE baby!  From what I can see you have this cute little button nose and skinny long legs!!  Maybe, just maybe you'll have a little height to you!

We still don't know if you're a boy or girl yet, but the lady who showed me your picture on the big screen seems to think you're a little boy!  Mommy is trying to hold back her excitement and wait for the results of the blood test!  Oh, sweet baby, is it May 19th yet?!!!  Mommy can hardly wait!!!

It amazing to watch how you're growing inside of mommy!  Your daddy had the biggest smile on his face when he saw you.  It was his birthday and he says you were and are his favorite birthday gift of all!!!!  Mommy and daddy are incredibly thankful to God for giving you to us.  He's making you fearfully and wonderfully!  He knows exactly how many hairs are going to be on your head!  Speaking of which, your daddy and I talk lots about your hair!  Mommy has dark curly hair and daddy has straight blonde hair.  I"m hoping for a blonde headed baby!!!!!  I'll take whatever I get because YOU are mommy's little angel!

Soon you'll be able to hear things going on outside of mommy's belly.  Yesterday, I was incredibly glad you couldn't hear because a co-worker scared mommy half to death with something they dropped on the floor and it made a really loud noise.  It made mommy jump a little.  I was wondering, if my sweet angel heard that it would probably jump too!

Oh Baby Roark, you've got SO MANY PEOPLE praying for you and your health and your days while you're living inside of mommy!  They are SO EXCITED that they'll be getting to see you in just  6 short months.  Speaking of time,  time is FLYING by with you!  MOmmy got your bed the other day!  We're working on getting your bedroom in order too!  We will make it all special just for you my sweetie!

Well my sweet bundle of joy, mommy has a few things to do before she goes into work today!  Mommy has to work late tonight which means our bedtime will be about 10 p.m.  Be sweet, stay warm and safe, and just keep swimming!  Oh, sleep some for mommy!

Dear Baby Roark:
Good morning mommy's angel!  Welcome to week 12!  They say that now you can move your little feet, kick some (although mommy can't feel it), and even suck your thumb!  Oh it's so exciting to read how you're growing each and every week!  You truly are God's little miracle!  It's amazing how God  forms you in the very secret place just the way He does.

There's this video called Finding Nemo!  In that movie there's this fish named Dorie who says "Just keep swimming!"  That's what mommy needs you to do!  Just keep swimming angel!  This week is a very important week in your development!  Mommy is still trying to increase her water intake each day.  We're getting there!

This week mommy and daddy go to see the Dr.  It's the same day as your daddy's birthday!  He's so excited about you!!!  We both are so excited we can't stand ourselves!  We will get to hear your heart beat for the first time on Thursday!  Oh that will be music to our ears!  We can't wait!  You are daddy's favorite birthday gift!!!

These weeks seem to be flying by for Mommy!  We're starting to get your nursery ready!  Hope you like it!  We can't paint until we find out if you're a little girl or boy!  By the end of this month we will know!!!  Remember Mommy told you she's not patient when it comes to waiting?!!  Well there's a 10 day time span mommy will have to wait to find out if you're a girl or boy and to see if you're 100% healthy!  You have LOTS of people praying for you!  It's absolutely breathtaking  to know that so many people love and care for you although they've never seen you!

Well my angel, mommy has to go.  I have to go to work early today and tomorrow!  I don't mind because Mommy is a morning person!  Until next time my little angel...Just keep swimming!!  Keep growing, and stay warm and safe.  Sleep some for me!  Mommy loves you more than you'll ever know!

Dear Baby Roark,
Let the journey begin!  Mommy saw the doctor and they say that you are in there!!!!  Mommy gets more excited as each week passes.  This week and next week are very important for you and Mommy.  After next week we'll pretty much be home free on this journey you and me!


I know you're growing!  Mommy's tummy is starting to show a little bump now!  It won't be long and it will be very obvious that you're in there!  We are 11 weeks into this journey!  We have many more weeks to go but just knowing that the first trimester is almost over is exciting to me!  Thank you for not making me very sick during the first trimester!  Mommy appreciates that.  I've only gotten sick twice.  There are some mommies out there who get so sick and stay that way the entire pregnancy.  So Mommy thanks you profusely!!!!!

Just the other day I was wondering if you'll be warm or cold natured.  Mommy is cold natured and LOVES warm weather.  I hope you do to.  We have to gang up on your daddy who LOVES cold weather!  Don't worry, if you're cold natured like mommy you'll have plenty of blankets to keep you warm.  Daddy loves it COLD.

My sweet angel, Mommy has a very, very busy day off today.  Stay warm in there, keep growing and sleep for me!  I love you my precious angel from God!!!!!!

Two more days!

Dear Baby Roark:
Thursday is on its way!  Mommy is elated!  I long to hear the words out of that doctor's mouth, Congratulations, you're pregnant!  Then it will be just how far along we are!  How long have you really been here?  Mommy isn't 100% sure but it's ok they will figure all of this out!!!!!

I find myself thinking about you lots!  What do you look like?  Will you have a head full of hair?  Oh just the sheer joy of knowing you're living inside me is almost too much to bear!  I have always been known as a person who is fun and very loving.  However, Mommy didn't know she had this much love in her heart until she found out about you!  I just love you I do!!!!  Daddy is head over heels excited about you too!

Can you hear daddy tell you good morning and good night?!!!  He's so cute telling you good night!!!!  Yep, you've got us by the heart strings even before we see you!

Do you get frustrated by Mommy tossing and turning at night?!!!  Mommy is horribly sorry.  I'm trying to get comfortable!  Just when I get comfortable you remind me of your presence and I have to rise and use the bathroom...you're faithful that way!  Mommy doesn't mind at all!!!!

I tell you what!  God is amazing!  Mommy and Daddy are so glad God has given you to us!  We pray for you every day!  There are lots of people who are praying for you!!!!!  God makes things happen when people pray!

Well my sweet angel, mommy has a full day today to include a 7 hour shift at work!  Stay warm in there!  Sleep tight and as always sleep for me!

Dear baby Roark:
Next Thursday is coming!  I can hardly wait.  I'll see the doctors and find out just how far along mommy is!  I think about you all the time!  How big are you right now?  Can you hear?  Questions, they flood my mind.

Today mommy is a little tired, but trust me you're totally worth being tired for.  Oh the days your daddy and I prayed for you.  I can remember the day I was complaining to God that I couldn't get pregnant.  You know what God said to mommy?  He said, "I gave Sarah a baby when she was 90 so what is your problem?"  Mommy had nothing to say to God back.  He quieted me.  That takes a lot to quiet Mommy but God did it on that day!

Oh sweet angel, mommy is excited beyond words!  The not so exciting part is getting sick.  It's not happening too much so I'm grateful.  You have lots of people praying for you that you will be a healthy baby when you're born.  God knows what He is doing and He doesn't need my help but prayers do help!  Lots of people can't wait to find out if you're a girl or boy.  Mommy can't either!  Oh well, I'll have to wait.  Mommy thinks we'll find out in June or July the latest!

Baby Roark, do you want to know something funny?!  Mommy in her not-so-infinite wisdom had this whole pregnancy thing planned out.  I originally thought I'd get pregnant right away and that I'd carry you through the cold months and deliver in June!  hahaha...God had other plans.  Mommy HATES cold!  I love warm weather for sure!  God definitely has a sense of humor!  You should be born during the cold month of NOvember.  Go figure!  Once again, God didn't or doesn't need Mommy's help.  Silly mommy!  When will I ever learn?!!!

Well my angel.  Mommy has to go cook for she and daddy!  I'm cooking a vegetable casserole!  I hope you like it!  My loves you very much my sweet angel.  Stay safe, warm, and cozy.  Sleep some for me while you're at it!

Dear Baby Roark:
The date was April 1!  That's the day that daddy and I found out about you!  We were so excited!  Mommy cried for about 5 minutes.  Daddy was grinning from ear to ear!

We had been praying for you for a really long time!  God finally answered our prayers!  Having you living inside me is very different!  I can't feel you yet but I know you're there!  You remind me by numerous trips to the bathroom day and night!  Oh, but I can't complain!  My heart overflows with joy just knowing I'll get to see your face in about 7 months!

My mind wonders, what will you look like!  Who will you resemble most?!!!  Daddy and I are constantly joking about who you'll take after! Your daddy is an amazing man!  He's funny, witty, and very loving! ] Hopefully you'll be tall like him!  Mommy is only 5 ft tall!

Every time I think of you, I thank God!  You see, He's fashioning you in the very secret place.  He's creating you fearfully and wonderfully!  Nothing else really matters to daddy and I other than for you to have a personal relationship with Jesus one day!  Until that day, we'll love you, and raise you to learn to know who Jesus is!  The people at church can't wait either.  I have this feeling you'll be one very loved little baby no matter where you go!!!!

Are you a boy or girl?!!! We don't know yet and have to wait to find out!  Mommy doesn't like to wait but for this it'll be all worth it.  Mommy and Daddy hope you're a boy but if you're a little girl we'll be just as thrilled!  Mommy has been surrounded by girls all her life so a little boy would be cool!

Well my angel, mommy needs to go get some sleep.  Daddy snored ALL NIGHT LONG and kept me awake.  I wonder if you can hear that?!!!  If so he probably kept you awake too!  So sleep some for me inside there!
